The Brickhouse Gallery is so excited to be part of the "Oak Park WalkAbout" featuring the "Reggie Graham Trio!" This awesome event is by Mindy Giles, which is "Oak Park Roots & Branches Walkabout + Concert w/ Light Show" that has received a City of Sacramento Creative Economy grant. She's also teaming with George Holden, Stephen Nikkel and the Oak Park businesses, photographers, historians and musicians that will make this come alive.
Here's a little something about our "musical jazz" guest:
Reginald Graham’s first love is music. He serves as Adjunct Professor of Music at Sacramento City College, and is the Owner of The Piano Lab and the leader of The Reggie Graham Trio. Reggie Graham’s involvement with keyboards was built upon feelings. “It felt good, and I kept going,” noted the artist, whose music career began here in the Sacramento area but really blossomed in the Bay Area. Reggie was introduced to Bay Area audiences as an organist in jazz legend John Hendrick’s very successful production, “The Evolution of the Blues.” The exposure that Reggie received from this musical brought him into contact with Jimmy Goings. Goings, lead vocalist for the popular Latin-rock group Santa Esmeralda, chose Reggie as the group’s multi-keyboardist and the international scene became his market as he toured the world. The internationally recognized group toured in Brazil, Mexico, Japan, Canada, Kuwait, Jordan, and Syria, and extensively in the United States. An energetic keyboardist, Reggie has performed with Gospel artists Helen Stevenson, Angella Christie and Arthur Jones. He has also been an opener for headliners George Benson, Dizzy Gillespie and The Ellington Orchestra. He recently received the EMG Trailblazers Award for pioneers who have set the standards for Gospel Music Ministry within our local churches, as well as on the national and international levels. Reggie currently leads several groups of his own.
This will be an outdoor Concert in our Sandy Knoll area, so get here early for a seat.... We'll have some beverages to quench your thirst.
